Privacy & Data Handling

We're straightforward about how we collect and use your info - no corporate mumbo jumbo here

Here's the Deal

Look, we get it - privacy policies usually read like some sleep-inducing legal doc written by robots. We're trying something different here. This privacy policy explains how Tavrix Adventure Architecture handles your personal information when you visit our site, reach out for a project, or just browse our work.

Been doing this since 2018, and we've always kept it simple: we only collect what we actually need, we don't sell your info to random third parties, and we're transparent about everything. If you've got questions after reading this, just give us a shout.

What Info We Actually Collect

Stuff You Give Us Directly

When you fill out our contact form or shoot us an email about a potential project, we'll ask for things like:

  • Your name and how to get back to you (email, phone)
  • Company name if you're reaching out on behalf of one
  • Project details, location preferences, timeline - basically whatever helps us understand what you're looking for
  • Budget ballpark (doesn't have to be exact, we're not gonna hold you to it)
Technical Stuff That Happens Automatically

Like pretty much every website out there, we collect some technical info when you visit:

  • Your IP address and general location (city/region level, not your exact address)
  • What browser and device you're using
  • Which pages you check out and how long you stick around
  • Where you came from (like if you clicked a link from another site)
  • Basic analytics stuff to help us improve the site

How We Use Your Info

We're not doing anything sketchy with your data. Here's what we actually do with it:

Communication

Responding to your inquiries, sending project proposals, keeping you updated on your build

Project Development

Understanding your needs, creating custom designs, managing timelines and deliverables

Improving Our Work

Analyzing what works, what doesn't, making the site better, understanding what clients are looking for

Legal Stuff

Complying with Canadian privacy laws, protecting against fraud, maintaining records

Real talk: We're a small studio. We don't have time or interest in doing anything weird with your data. We collect what we need to do our job well, and that's it.

Who We Share Stuff With

We're pretty protective of your info, but there are a few situations where we might share it:

Project Partners

Sometimes we work with structural engineers, environmental consultants, or local contractors. If your project needs their expertise, we'll share relevant details with them - but only what's necessary for the work.

Service Providers

We use a few third-party tools to keep things running smoothly - email hosting, website analytics, project management software. These companies might process your data, but they're bound by their own privacy policies and can't use it for other purposes.

Legal Requirements

If we're legally required to disclose information (like a court order or regulatory request), we'll comply. We'll try to let you know if this happens, unless we're prohibited from doing so.

Cookies & Technical Bits

Yeah, we use cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are small files that help the website remember stuff about your visit.

Essential Cookies

Keep the site working properly. Can't really turn these off.

Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how people use the site. Totally anonymous.

Preference Cookies

Remember your settings and preferences between visits.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you want, but heads up - some parts of the site might not work as smoothly.

Your Rights & Control

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you've got some solid rights when it comes to your personal info. Here's what you can do:

You can ask us what personal information we have about you. We'll send you a copy within 30 days - sometimes faster if we're not swamped with projects.

If we've got something wrong about you, just let us know and we'll fix it. Happens more than you'd think - autocorrect has a lot to answer for.

Want us to delete your info? No problem, just ask. We'll wipe it from our systems, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or accounting reasons.

Don't want marketing emails or newsletters? There's an unsubscribe link in every email we send. Click it and you're off the list - no hard feelings.

To exercise any of these rights, just send us an email at studio@tavrixadventure.info or give us a call. We'll usually get back to you within a few days.

How We Protect Your Data

We take security seriously, even if we're not some massive corporation with unlimited resources. Here's what we do:

  • SSL encryption on the website (that's the little lock icon in your browser)
  • Secure servers with regular backups
  • Limited access - only our core team can see client information
  • Regular software updates to patch any vulnerabilities
  • Strong passwords and two-factor authentication where possible

That said, nothing online is 100% secure. We do our best, but if you're sharing super sensitive information, maybe give us a call instead of emailing it.

How Long We Keep Your Info

We don't hoard data forever. Here's roughly how long we keep different types of information:

Project Files & Contracts

7 years (legal requirement for business records in Canada)

General Inquiries

2 years, then deleted unless there's ongoing communication

Website Analytics

26 months (that's Google Analytics default)

Email Correspondence

Until the project wraps up, then archived or deleted

Questions or Concerns?

Look, privacy policies can be confusing. If something here doesn't make sense, or you've got concerns about how we're handling your data, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd rather have a quick chat than have you wondering.

Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm PST. We're usually pretty responsive to emails even outside those hours though - occupational hazard of loving what we do.

Changes to This Policy

We might update this privacy policy from time to time - usually when we add new services or if privacy laws change. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.

For major changes, we'll send an email to active clients. For minor tweaks, we'll just update the page. We recommend checking back every now and then, especially if you're working with us on a project.
